A little about me

Hi, my name is Imani and I’m passionate about reclaiming birth as your own.

I’m guided by your needs, God/Spirit/feminine energy and the belief that birth is natural, healthy, and not to be feared. With calm and gentle birthing techniques, and an emphasis on relational continuity of care, I will honour your unique relationship with your baby and protect your precious first moments together.

I support incredible births and celebrate motherhood. As a team, we’ll co-create an empowered, healing, and unforgettable birth journey on your terms.

What To Expect (How I Work)

I work with you to build the skills and confidence to birth free of unnecessary interventions that can move the experience out of your control and into the realm of over-medicalisation. I trust that your body knows what to do and does it best when you feel safe. My job is to protect your space by keeping it calm, comfortable and conducive to your preferences.

Think of me as grandma, peaceful sister, and comforting best friend rolled into one. I love celebrating motherhood, am always learning, and can hold quiet space like your favourite therapist does.

Your positive birth is invaluable. In order to facilitate this, my prices start at £1,800 (payment plans are available).

My journey as a doula, healer, and Goddess …so far

I’m based in Brixton and specialise in supporting Black women and mothers who plan to birth their babies with minimal intervention. I love learning, working with nature, and cultivating connections. I’ll be on maternity leave from mid-May and am unable to offer birth packages to clients due after 30th April 2024.

My Upbringing & Values

Raised in a house of Black and Indigenous healers, I draw from several years of birthing support experience and gender justice work. I recognise your innate power as a parent and understand the importance of considering your cultural, religious, gender and sexual preferences by default and not as afterthoughts. I love the richness of diversity and will, no doubt, enjoy immersing myself in the practices of your community.

My Qualifications & Experience

Birth & Postpartum
I am a graduate of Conscious Birthing‘s Birth / Postnatal Doula course, Abuela DoulasPostnatal Sankofa course, and Red Tent DoulasTraditional Postpartum course. I have accrued over 4000 hours of birth work and training throughout my career and was awarded the Evidence Based Birth Professional scholarship in 2022. I am also a recognised birth and postpartum doula on DoulaUK, The Doula Directory, and Find My Doula.
